If you’ve been eyeing the PIpa URBN infant car seat but don’t want to commit to one of the existing travel bundles – the new Flex system is for you! Priced at $650, which puts it at the same cost as the Pipa Aire RX + relx base, but instead of a base you get a set of wheels.

What makes the Pipa URBN Unique?

The Nuna Pipa URBN is a baseless car-seat with pipaFIX rigid LATCH system built in. This makes it perfect for situations where you wouldn’t carry a base like getting in and out of cabs or rideshares, or using multiple cars and the same car seat.

The URBN is a lightweight car seat with a weight of around 9.2 lbs with everything included. It holds children up to 30 lbs and includes Nuna’s signature Sky Drape canopy. It is not compatible with either Pipa Series Base.

The Pipa URBN with the new Flex system will include the carbon fiber patterned handle and come in Caviar.

You can further the use of the Flex system frame by purchasing the Stroller seat. The seat will retail at $275, which brings the entire system to $925 which puts the cost between the Nuna Pipa URBN + TRVL LX bundle at $900 and the next option of the Nuna Pipa URBN + TRIV Next bundle at $1380.

Our Thoughts on the Nuna PIPA Urbn Flex System

We are a big fan of this new system. We’ve seen a lot of interest in the Pipa URBN car seat as a standalone and this seems to be a fair compromise compared to the cost of the other PIPA Series lineup.

The Flex System stroller frame seems like a hybrid or stripped down version of the TRIV or SWIV platform.
